A first for Ireland

A unique event is taking place on the 29th October when a new website called myZanadoo.com is launched. myZanadoo is a website where you can book appointments for hair, beauty and spas online throughout the 32 counties of Ireland. This is a unique event because it is the first website in the world to offer a real time booking facility for multiple salons. This is another sign of the international strength of the Irish hair and Beauty Industry that such a service can be launched here first. myZanadoo have teamed up with Phorest to connect their web portal to Phorest's software in 600 salons nationwide. There will be 100 salons on the system at launch and more will be added every day in the lead up to Christmas.

Every salon will have their own web site free of charge with photos and descriptions of their salon and services. Salons will be able to promote this site to their clients - e.g. yoursalon.myzanadoo.com or escape.myzanadoo.com. This will be very effective for salons that don't employ full time receptionists and busy salons who cannot answer every phone call - myZanadoo will be your receptionist - just ask people on your voicemail message to go to your myzanadoo web page and book an appointment, this way you will not lose business because you cannot answer the phone. Plus myZanadoo will be available 24/7 so your salon can be generating revenue while you are sleeping!

But even more significantly - myZanadoo is a great new revenue opportunity for your business. People who have just moved to your town or city or have just arrived in Ireland and are looking for a salon will go onto myZanadoo.com to find one. If your salon is present you will be able to gain new business. People who are coming on holiday to Ireland will also be able to book a trip to your salon in advance.

For the consumer
Consumers will be able to browse through different salons looking for the right treatment or location and book an appointment in real-time. About The name
Xanadu (or Zanadoo) was the summer capital of the Mongol Empire and was known for its opulence and splendour. In 1275 Marco Polo reported on the wonders of the city to his fellow Europeans and this later inspired Samuel Taylor Coleridge to write his famous poem Kubla Khan which caused Xanadu to become a metaphor for opulence. myZanadoo.com will be people's very own Zanadoo - a destination on the web where you can go to pamper yourself.
