A Walk In The Phorest...

The Memento 6 system has had a positive impact on my business, so much so that I have installed it in two of my salons! I can watch everything that is happening real time, from my multi-link software on my laptop, wherever I am, and can see every transaction, booking and detail of all aspects of my business! I can also use this to utilise online and instant support for my staff whether they be in Belfast or Cavan. What is truly amazing about the system is the ability to send promotional text messages directly to your customers mobile phones! I have used this on the run up to Father's Day to promote the eVoucher facility that the new Memento 6 system has given me, and was able to reach hundreds of my customers within the vacinity (and ultimately the most likely to be able to drop in and pick up a voucher) with a single text message composed on my laptop! Each client received the message with their own name, completely personalising the experience and I was able to target both clients in Belfast and Cavan from the same system! The results were astounding! I had sales increases over the last few days, especially after the text went out, from customers who had received the text, knew someone who received the text and either came in to purchase a voucher or were just reminded that they needed a haircut! I had people coming in and purchasing vouchers for their husbands, fathers and even for friends husbands and dads, it was amazing and an audience that I would not have reached if it had not have been for the texting facility!

A review of Phorest's salon software system by Phorest salon software system user Katy Simmonds.

Katy Simmonds' salon Mira Mira employs seven staff and is based in Kent.

"I got a salon software system because I just wanted to eliminate the books and tippexing and all that. I wanted to have everything on a computer so I could move things around, book people in through the whole year without any hassle etc. Now I can just copy and paste and book clients in whenever I want."

Ease of Use

It's brilliant; it's absolutely fantastic. Everyone really likes it. The girls have worked with other salon software systems and say it's the easiest they've ever used.

Reports

I don't get to run many reports myself because I've a small child and am stuck for time. They give a lot of info though, which is great. The main ones I look at are financials, but it's handy to have the staff performance ones etc too.

Backup and Support

Phorest support is fantastic. We've spoken to them loads, mostly because it was a learning curve for us at the start. We did have a problem recently too where the system started running slow. It turned out we had a virus, but Andy from Phorest came out and sorted it for us.

Latest marketing

The marketing tools are great. Sending a text is so direct; straight to your client's phone. It's easy.

Is there anything you'd like done differently?

It would be really handy if the diary was in a year format, and then you could just click into a month if you need to, same as when you go into people's schedules. I could see who's in and who's not in an overall way and make sure nobody is off at the same time. I could see who's had holidays and how many days everyone has left. I've asked Phorest about that and they say its being added to the system at the moment.
