That ambition has shaped thousands of decisions over the years. Now, it\u2019s brought us to an important milestone: Phorest is officially a Certified B Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re incredibly proud to receive this certification. However, for us, the real significance lies in the commitments behind it\u2026 and the kind of company we\u2019re continuing to grow into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Does It Mean to Be a Certified B Corporation?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>B Corp certification is awarded by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcorporation.net\/en-us\/movement\/about-b-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">B Lab<\/a>, an independent non-profit organisation. It recognises businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The assessment looks at how a company affects all of its stakeholders across five key areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Governance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At its heart, the B Corp movement is based on a simple but powerful belief: businesses should create value for everyone they affect, not only their stakeholders. That belief is already deeply rooted in Phorest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Building a Stronger Industry, Together<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our mission is to work together with our community, to build a stronger industry. To us, the word \u201ctogether\u201d has always mattered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No business grows in isolation. The success of a salon, spa, or clinic is connected to the success of its team, clients, local community, and the wider world. The same is true for Phorest. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve always tried to put our mission into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, we have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Built our products and features around feedback from the businesses that use them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stood alongside industry professionals to lobby governments for greater support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made 25% of Phorest employee-owned, because we believe the people building the company should share in its success<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanded that environmental commitment through the creation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/professionalbeauty.ie\/phorest-partners-with-irish-trees-to-expand-its-forest-in-co-meath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Phorest Forest<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These aren\u2019t standalone initiatives. They\u2019re branches of the same idea: that decisions we make today should help our clients, employees, industry, and planet thrive tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.phorest.com\/ae\/about\/bcorp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Discover more about the Phorest Forest and our journey to becoming a B Corp.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Turning Our Values Into a Legal Commitment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most important parts of becoming a B Corp isn\u2019t the certification itself. It\u2019s the legal commitment that comes with it. Phorest\u2019s constitution has been amended to formally include all of our stakeholders:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our clients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our employees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The hair, beauty, and wellness industry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our shareholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means we\u2019re legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on every one of these groups \u2013 not only when circumstances are favourable, but when times are challenging, too. In a world where businesses are often under pressure to prioritise short-term results, this helps protect our long-term purpose. Our commitment to balancing people, planet, and profit is now embedded in the foundation of Phorest, ensuring it can\u2019t simply be set aside when circumstances change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learning From Leaders in the B Corp Movement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our journey towards B Corp certification was strengthened by the guidance of Paolo Braguzzi, who joined the Phorest Board several years ago. As the former CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/world.davines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Davines<\/a>, Paolo helped make the company one of the first Certified B Corporations in the beauty industry. Paolo has since become a leading voice in the global B Corp movement, and co-founded the B Corp Beauty Coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeing this philosophy brought to life helped reinforce our belief that B Corp certification was the right path for Phorest; one grounded in accountability, collaboration, and meaningful long-term action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Joining the B Corp Beauty Coalition<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this next chapter, Phorest is also joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/bcorpbeauty.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">B Corp Beauty Coalition<\/a>, a group of Certified B Corporations working together to improve the beauty industry\u2019s social and environmental impact. Joining the coalition gives us an opportunity to learn from like-minded businesses, share knowledge, and contribute to positive change across the global beauty community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because lasting progress doesn\u2019t happen when one company acts alone. It takes businesses across the industry putting down roots, sharing ideas, and raising the bar together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Certification Is a Milestone, Not the Finish Line<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Becoming a Certified B Corporation is an important moment for Phorest, but it isn\u2019t the end of the journey. B Corp certification doesn\u2019t mean a company is perfect. It means it\u2019s committed to measuring its impact, being accountable for its decisions and continuing to improve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And while we\u2019re proud to be part of this movement, we hope this level of responsibility won\u2019t remain a differentiator forever. Our ambition is to see long-term thinking, stakeholder accountability, and positive impact become the standard across the entire hair, beauty, and wellness industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s always more work to do and more room to grow.
