How to Create a WOW Experience in Your Salon… But First, Coffee

Salon Coffee

There is absolutely nothing wrong with handing your client a nice cup of coffee made by the salon receptionist in the kitchen. It’s nice, it’s good customer service… but it’s also pretty standard. Today we want to show you a way of making coffee in your salon that not only looks and tastes impressive but, more importantly, has that WOW factor you need to excite and delight your clients and set yourself apart from the competition.

Coffee has become a thing and people are fussy about the coffee they drink. So this is definitely an area where you can impress!

This method is a unique slow-brewing method from Japan (yes, Japan!) that is quickly spreading among coffee enthusiasts. It is quick and easy to make, the entire process looks amazing and the coffee tastes fantastic. There is a couple of things you will need for this and you can pick all of them up from a local coffee shop. We are using this amazing stand from the ladies at The Copper Collection (check them out on Instagram or Facebook) and brewing directly into the coffee cups.

So here’s what you will need:

  • a Hario brewer set (dripper + jug) or a stand, like ours, with a Hario V60 dripper
  • a goose neck kettle (a metal teapot with a long neck will do just as well)
  • paper filters for a Hario V60 (white are best but the brown ones will do as well)
  • coffee (ground for a V60)
  • boiling water

Check out our video below to find out how to prepare the coffee so that you have a delicious cup every time (the perfect ratio is 1 scoop (12g) of ground coffee to 200g of water). It takes about 2.5 minutes to filter the coffee.
