Twitter From A Salon's Perspective

Twitter is a great way of reaching new clients outside of your current client database. It gives you a new platform to get to know clients and not only will you build relationships with them, but the information can be priceless too! Tweet out tips and tricks in the beauty industry or whatever tickles your tweeting fancy! Don’t just use it as a way to advertise – instead, have a chat with people. Find out what they like (and don’t like) about your business, or other salon’s. It is likely that people are already having conversations about your salon, your competitors or your industry on Twitter. It’s time to join the conversation!

For salon’s and their brands, twitter offers a rich canvas and a powerful context in which to connect your messages to what people are talking about right now. On Twitter you can be an influencer and participate in real-time conversations to drive consumer action. If people are talking about the latest “on trend” product on the market you can generate business by pointing out you supply that brand.

The bottom line is that Twitter can connect you to centres-of-influence and individuals who will either use your services or help you promote your treatments. Another benefit of Twitter is that it can be transformed into a new revenue stream for your business where you can sell your physical products. What we see a lot of salon’s doing is offering commission to their staff to sell the latest shampoo or tan. This is a great way to encourage your staff to sell products but you also need to sell products in other ways. Why not also market those products by using Twitter.
