Today we are excited to announce a significant appointment to our leadership team, with the addition of Davines CEO of 17 years Paolo Braguzzi to our Board of Directors.

After an extremely difficult year for salons and spas, with lockdowns and social distancing measures putting a huge strain on the industry, the new appointment is testament to the Phorest commitment to helping the professional hair and beauty industry to grow stronger than ever.

Hear Paolo Braguzzi discuss the importance of sharing knowledge, building a strong brand, and reflect on significant industry challenges such as the recruitment crisis and the reduced frequency of visits salons have been and still are currently experiencing. Braguzzi, who recently stepped down from his 17-year tenure as CEO of Davines Group, brings his expertise and leadership from one of the top-performing and significant players on the global beauty scene. During his term as CEO, he was responsible for the growth of the Davines (haircare) and Comfort Zone (skincare) brands and oversaw the company’s transition into a benefit corporation with a turnover of €163 million.

Speaking on joining Phorest’s Board of Directors, Braguzzi highlighted a shared devotion to the beauty industry and passion for the planet as key to his decision to take up the position:

“In my working experience I have had the pleasure to focus on servicing and supporting the professional beauty industry, which I consider my home place, and combine the success of the companies I worked for with a positive impact on people and the planet. I’m glad to have the chance to continue this journey by joining the Board of Directors of Phorest and contribute to its global expansion.

Phorest CEO Ronan Perceval – whose own commitment to the environment resulted in our company joining the Tech Goes Carbon Neutral movement –  has welcomed Braguzzi’s appointment with these words:

“I am absolutely thrilled to have Paolo’s expertise and wealth of knowledge at the table. I consider him both a fearless pioneer and a compassionate leader and have been a long time admirer of the Davines Group business model and ethos. I know the business acumen he will bring to Phorest as we continue to rapidly scale will be second-to-none and our shared values will allow us to grow with conscious care for our community.”

Braguzzi joins a growing Board of Directors that includes Olivia Leonard, Director of Instagram EMEA; James Myerscough, CEO of Educogym; Jonathan Klahr, Growth Equity Investor at SGE and tech entrepreneur and Phorest’s Chairman Patrick Garvey.
