Why we expect better
B Corp is a certification for companies that meet B Lab Standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. To achieve it, Phorest completed the B Impact Assessment, an independent evaluation across five areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
At the end of the process, applicants receive a B impact score which measures a company’s verified social and environmental impact against B Lab’s global standards. It is an independent benchmark of how a business creates positive impact for people, communities, and the planet. We’re proud that Phorest received a B impact score of 89, but see this as a starting point, not a finish line.
Certification is only part of the story. The bigger change is legal. Phorest’s constitution has been formally amended to include all of our stakeholders: clients, employees, industry, environment, and shareholders. Through B Corp’s Mission Lock, we’re now required to weigh every one of these when we make decisions, not just when it’s convenient. That commitment is protected even through future ownership changes, so it can’t be quietly set aside in the long term.

50% of our management team are women, and our mean gender pay gap sits at just 4%, less than half the Irish national average.
Roots that run deep
Through the Phorest Forest, we’ve planted a tree for every new salon that joins us, 800 trees in 2024 alone, and purchased 15 acres of forestry in Co. Longford, Ireland. In 2025, Phorest made six-figure charitable donations to over 20 organisations, and the team completed 712 hours of paid volunteer work.
B Corp Beauty Coalition
Several years ago, we welcomed Paolo Braguzzi, former CEO of Davines, to the Phorest Board. Paolo helped build one of the first Certified B Corporations in the beauty industry and co-founded the B Corp Beauty Coalition. Phorest is a member of this coalition too.
What’s Next
A milestone for our industry, not just for us. Becoming a B Corp doesn’t make Phorest exceptional, and we hope it doesn’t stay a differentiator for long. As a B Corp in the salon, spa and clinic technology space, we’re counted among businesses leading a global movement toward a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Our hope is that this becomes the standard to which the whole industry holds itself.
